Leicester City vs Everton Predictions

  • Leicester have won three of their last four home league games
  • The Foxes have won eight of their last nine against sides in the bottom three
  • Everton have the league’s worst away record this term
  • The Toffees have lost each of their last seven league trips

Everton still in panic mode

While Everton picked up a crucial win over Frank Lampard’s former side last weekend, the Toffees remain in serious danger. They sit 18th, two points shy of safety after seeing Burnley’s form take off. Now Lampard’s men head to Leicester aiming to pick up another three points.

They catch the Foxes straight after Thursday’s loss in Rome, a defeat which saw them exit the Europa Conference League, losing their last shot at silverware and European football. The visitors will be hopeful that Leicester will now pack it in and coast to the final day, but I’m not so sure that’ll be on Brendan Rodgers’ agenda.

King Power boost for Foxes

While Leicester are winless in six and coming into this on the back of consecutive losses, they do have an edge over Everton in this one. The Foxes have a fine record at the King Power, with their only home league defeats coming against the top five.

Leicester have won three of their last four home Premier League games and they’ve won both home clashes with the bottom four heading into this weekend. On top of that, the hosts have won eight of their last nine games against sides starting the day in the bottom three.

More away woes for Everton

While home form is Leicester’s saving grace, Everton’s away form is the anchor dragging them into the Championship. The Toffees have won fewer points away from home than any other side in the Premier League this season (6), with no side losing more on the road than the Toffees (12).

Everton have lost their last seven away league games heading into this one, while they’ve conceded at least twice in each of their last nine trips in all competitions. Scoring has also been an issue for the visitors, who have struck just 13 goals in 16 away trips. Richarlison is their highest scorer on the road with only three goals.

Leicester should be looking to finish the season on a high and I don’t expect heavy rotation from the hosts. Their home record combined with Everton’s struggles and the gulf between the pair in the table make the Foxes look very tempting at well over evens. I’m backing a home win, while I see another tough afternoon in front of goal for the visitors, with a 2-0 victory my correct score prediction.

Leicester predicted lineup: Schmeichel; Justin, Fofana, Evans, Thomas; Tielemans, Mendy; Maddison, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes; Vardy

Everton predicted lineup: Pickford; Coleman, Mina, Holgate; Iwobi, Doucoure, Delph, Mykolenko; Gordon, Richarlison, Gray
