Solid foundation can guide Lens to victory

Lens have enjoyed success in four of their last five home games in Ligue 1 and they should be backed to get the better of Marseille on Saturday.

They are fourth in Ligue 1, having won five and lost two of their eight games this season, while leaders Marseille have six wins and two defeats. Nine (53%) of the 17 games between teams in the top half of the table have been home wins, and backing them to a one-point level stake would have shown a profit of 5.38 points.

Lens maintained their winning run with a 2-1 victory over Paris, giving them four wins in the four matches in which they have been odds-on this season. The hosts look solid in defence this season. No Ligue 1 side has shipped fewer goals than the seven that Lens have conceded in their eight games.

They come into this game in good form at home, having won their last three Ligue 1 games on their own patch.

Lens to win 1-0 at home looks a decent correct-score option. They were 1-0 winners against Marseille last time they met in Ligue 1 and the visitors’ last two league defeats have both been by a 1-0 scoreline.
