Lincoln City vs Exeter City Predictions
- Exeter head into this season with momentum behind them after earning automatic promotion.
- Both sides are expected to be in a fight for survival this season.
- Exeter are unbeaten in three of the last four H2H encounters.
- Lincoln won less than a third of their home league games last term (30%).
A potentially long season for Lincoln
With both of these sides being priced at 50/1 or higher for the title, it’s safe to say that this opening day clash could prove pivotal in the battle for survival that is to come. Lincoln are favourites to win by virtue of home advantage, though they welcome a promoted Exeter side looking to keep the good feeling alive after their positive 2021/22 campaign.
If Lincoln are to enjoy another season of survival at this level, they will have to improve on their 30% win rate at home, they did end last season with back-to-back home league wins although the value of those are questionable given that there was little to play for by that stage.
Exeter can keep the good times rolling
While the visitors ended their promotion campaign with a whimper in terms of form, the eventual second placed finish was enough to see them over the line and initiate the promotion party.
Visiting manager Matt Taylor won his only prior touchline meeting with Mark Kennedy, and that was also an away encounter. We predict that he can maintain that unbeaten record at the second time of asking with an Exeter/draw double chance prediction.
However, this one could be tight and that is covered with our small stake selection on a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
