Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Liverpool have a perfect record at home with eight wins in as many games across all competitions. The Reds can make it nine in a row, but Brentford have scored eight goals against their last three games and can at least grab a consolation effort against a Red side who have conceded in four of their last five games.

Liverpool 3-1

Reason for tip

Liverpool have won all of their home games by at least two goals this term and they can keep that run going. They men are scoring on average just under three goals per-game at Anfield in the league and have conceded exactly one goal in three of their last five games, so a 3-1 win is the correct score prediction.

Bryan Mbeumo To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Bryan Mbeumo has six goals in 11 games this season and has two goals and two assists in his last three appearances – meaning he has had a direct hand in half of Brentford’s goals over that period. As such, the Bees forward looks a good outside contender for a goal at Anfield.

Liverpool vs Brentford Predictions

  • Brentford have scored in 10 of their 11 Premier League games.
  • Both teams have scored in four of Liverpool’s last five across all competitions.
  • Liverpool have eight wins in eight games at Anfield.

In-form Bees head to Anfield

Brentford have hit their stride with three successive victories but their winning run could well come to an end at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool have a perfect record at home with eight wins in as many games across all competitions, and they come into the game looking to bounce back after a rotated side went down 3-2 at Toulouse in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ryan Gravenberch, Virgil van Dijk and Curtis Jones all missed the game in France due to various injury issues. Gravenberch and Van Dijk are expected to be available for Sunday’s game but Jones is likely to sit out again and Alexis Mac Allister is suspended.

Brentford keeper Mark Flekken was forced off at half-time in the win over West Ham last time out but is available and should start. Aaron Hickey faces a spell on the sidelines and joins a long absentee list and Keane Lewis-Potter is rated as a doubt.

Bees can strike in defeat

Both teams to score was under consideration for the main bet here but I’ve decided to be a bit bolder and opt for a Liverpool win with goals at both ends.

The Bees have scored eight goals in their last three games and have scored in six consecutive Premier League games, failing to score in just one of their 11 league assignments so far, so they can get a goal on Merseyside this weekend.

Both teams have scored in five of Liverpool’s seven games and they are yet to draw a blank in any game this season. Liverpool’s incredible home form is hard to ignore and they can record a ninth home win in as many attempts this weekend.

The Reds are in need of a response following their midweek defeat and after somehow being held at Luton in their last league game, and they can make home advantage count even if they do fail to keep a shut-out.

Mbeumo the consolation contender

Mohamed Salah is the clear contender for an anytime goal for Liverpool as he has managed eight goals in 11 league games this season and has hit four goals across his last three appearances at Anfield. However, with the visitors expected to score there is more value in trying to pick out a Brentford scorer and Bryan Mbeumo looks a good option.

The Cameroonian has six goals in 11 games this season and has two goals and two assists in his last three appearances – meaning he has had a direct hand in half of Brentford’s goals over that period.

Liverpool have won all of their home games by at least two goals this term and they can keep that run going. Jurgen Klopp’s men are scoring on average just under three goals per-game at Anfield in the league and have conceded exactly one goal in three of their last five games, so a 3-1 win is the correct score prediction.
