Railwaymen on track to score against Marseille

Lokomotiv Moscow and Marseille both bring impressive unbeaten runs into this opening Group E encounter and there’s a good chance that they retain them following the final whistle.

The Railwaymen trail leaders Zenit by only two points in the Russian Premier League and drew 1-1 with the champions earlier this season.

Lokomotiv made some crafty signings over the summer and Marko Nikolic has young, dynamic side that could surprise Marseille if they show any signs of complacency.

Jorge Sampaoli will guard against that – his side’s three wins and three draws this season have demonstrated a never-say-die attitude that has seen them fight back from the concession of early goals.

Saturday’s win at Monaco was accompanied by Les Phoceens’ first clean sheet of the campaign, which may indicate an improving defense.
