      Draw 1-1

      Luton vs AFC Wimbledon Predictions

      • Ten of Wimbledon’s last 11 competitive matches have gone under 2.5 goals.
      • No team conceded fewer goals in League Two last term than Wimbledon’s 35.
      • Luton drew seven of their home league games last term.

Dons could make life hard for Hatters

Two seasons ago Luton were in the Premier League while Wimbledon were finishing tenth in League Two. Fast forward 24 months and the pair meet in the first game of the 2025-26 League One season after what has been a sharp fall from grace for the Hatters.

Back-to-back relegations have been a bitter pill to swallow but Luton are antepost favourites to win League One while the newly-promoted Dons are favourites to go down.

However Wimbledon had the best defensive record by some distance in the fourth tier last season and could make life very difficult for Luton in this clash.

Johnnie Jackson’s side conceded just 35 goals in 46 games before beating Walsall in the play-off final and have made some solid signings over the summer.

Hosts may need time to gel

Luton have lost some key players, namely Carlton Morris, Alfie Doughty and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu.

They have made some additions but they could take some time to gel and it may be worth siding with the visitors to make life difficult for the home side.

Ten of Wimbledon’s last 11 competitive matches have gone under 2.5 goals and a repeat could be on the cards.

It was a stalemate the last time that these two met and correct score backers may want to side with a 1-1 draw again.
