Lyngby vs OB Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Lyngby, despite losing their final game of last season, managed to edge the Danish 1st Division title by just a single point margin over 2nd placed Silkeborg last term. This meant that they, alongside Silkeborg and 3rd placed Horsens, earned themselves a return to the Danish Superliga. This came at the expense of Hobro as the top flight expanded to include 14 teams rather than 12.

They couldn’t have thought of a more difficult way to begin their return to the Superliga though as they visited the dominant force in Danish football. Copenhagen strolled to the Superliga title last season and won by a margin of nine points, and they wasted no time getting this season underway with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Lyngby last Saturday.

Lyngby won’t be reading too much into this result though, as they never expected to come away with anything. This defeat makes it three wins, one draw, and three defeats in their last seven outings.

OB won’t be an easy test, but it will be a lot less challenging than their trip to Copenhagen. Last season’s 7th place finishers in the Danish Superliga began this campaign with a home match against the promoted Silkeborg. Despite their complete dominance of possession and having 16 shots on the Silkeborg goal they couldn’t find an opening though, with the game eventually ending goalless. This will most certainly feel like two points dropped rather than one gained for OB.

Despite the poor result, OB will be relatively pleased with their performance. They absolutely dominated Silkeborg and deserved to get a few goals, and if they perform the same way on Sunday they are likely to break the deadlock at some point.

I think the visitors can get the three points on Sunday after their dominant display last week. Lyngby may have been playing the Superliga champions but they were still poor, so my prediction is for an OB 0.0 Asian Handicap Win at 1.650, and I’m going for a 2-0 correct score prediction at 10/1 as well.
