Mallorca vs Real Sociedad Predictions
- Mallorca have suffered only two defeats in their last nine league games
- Real Sociedad have won just one of their last six La Liga matches, losing four times in that run
- Three of the last five meetings between this pair finished level
Mallorca might frustrate their visitors again
It was a tale of two tournaments between Mallorca and Real Sociedad last season as the former won the pair’s two-legged Copa Del Rey semi-final tie on penalties, following two full-time draws, but the latter secured a league double over the Pirates.
That form makes Tuesday’s La Liga clash a difficult one to call and suggests there may not be too much between the two, with the league table backing up that hypothesis as just one point separates the pair after five games.
Real Sociedad have made a poor start by their standards, losing three of their opening five games, but they are unbeaten on their travels and should have enough to earn a point at the Son Moix.
Real Sociedad set to continue their disappointing start
Mallorca held champions Real Madrid to a draw in their opener before repeating the feat against struggling Sevilla and losing to Villarreal in their next two home games.
The Pirates, like Real Sociedad, are not in the best of form as those patchy results show, but they are a resilient side under Jagoba Arrasate – losing just two of their last nine league matches – and they could frustrate their visitors again.
Three of the last five meetings between the pair have finished level and that trend looks set to continue on Tuesday.
