Malmo FF to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Malmo have only dropped two points from six home league outings, scoring three or more in four of those five wins, and they can record another home victory in a high scoring affair this weekend.

Malmo FF 3-1

Reason for tip

Malmo look too strong for Sirius, particularly with home advantage, but the visitors have at least scored in each of the last three meetings between these two sides and can at least keep that run going in a 3-1 defeat.

Malmo FF vs Sirius Predictions

  • Malmo have won five and drawn one of their opening six home league games
  • Malmo have won five of their last six meetings with Sirius
  • Malmo have scored 18 goals in six home league games

Malmo can keep up the pace

Malmo return to action after a three-week layoff with a two-point lead at the top of the Swedish Allsvenskan and they are expected to have too much firepower for Sirius at their beloved Eleda Stadion.

Henrik Rydstrom’s table-toppers have taken 31 points from their opening 12 games, racking up 31 goals and conceding only ten to win ten of those assignments.

Malmo’s sole league defeat this season came on the road but that was at Elfsborg, who sit second, and they have been almost foot perfect on their own patch.

The Blue Ones have dropped only two points from six home league outings, scoring three or more in four of those five wins.

Their free-scoring ability may spell trouble for Sirius, who head into this weekend’s fixtures in 11th with only 14 points collected from their 12 games.

Free-scoring hosts could make hay

Prior to the international break, Sirius has recorded three straight wins but sixth-placed Brommapojkarna were their highest-ranked victims.

This season, the visitors have lost 4-3 at home to second-placed Elsfborg and 4-1 when entertaining third-placed Hacken, which suggests their defence may be severely tested by this lively Malmo attack.

Malmo have scored three or more in five of their last six meetings with Sirius and backing them to prevail in a game featuring over 2.5 goals looks the best approach.

That said, both teams have scored in the last three rivalries and, with the visitors showing some improved form, they may get on the scoresheet in a 3-1 defeat.
