• Zenit’s only win the Champions League so far came against Malmo
• Malmo have failed to find the back of the net in Group H so far
• Zenit have won 12 of their 20 matches in all competitions this campaign

Malmo’s European Struggles

This is first time Malmo have reached the Champions League group stages since 2015/16, and much like then, they have struggled among Europe’s elite, losing each of their four matches so far.

Some games have been reasonably tight, with a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last time out, but they are yet to even score in this stage of the competition this season.

Indeed, they have only ever kept two clean sheets in the group stages of the Champions League, and I predict they will struggle to keep a superior Zenit quiet in this one.

Zenit Hitting The Target

Zenit sit top of the Russian league, scoring an impressive 39 goals in just 15 games, and despite not winning as regularly in Europe, they have still been finding the back of the net.

Sergei Semak’s side put two past Juventus in a 4-2 defeat in Italy, as well as battering Malmo 4-0 in the reverse fixture in Russia.

That victory over the Swedes is their only one in the group stages, but after a run of just one defeat in five games in all competitions, they look a good bet to pick up another win here, and I am backing them to come out on top 2-0.
