Marseille vs Galatasaray Predictions

• Marseille have scored two or more goals in eight of their last nine home league matches.
• Galatasaray has won just two of their last ten away matches against French sides in European competitions (D1, L7).
• L’OM have seven wins in their last 10 home games (D2, L1).

Victory for Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome

Marseille lost their first competitive match at the Stade Vélodrome since February when they went 3-2 to Lens last weekend. But they’ll hope it’s just a blemish and that their otherwise strong home record will play a role in matchday two of the Europa League as they entertain Galatasaray.

Gala have been largely unimpressive so far this season and have won just once in their last five league games. However, they did  cause an upset in their opening Europa League game as they defeated Lazio 1-0. They have a torrid record against French sides, winning just two of their last ten matches away to teams from France.

Marseille is a much better side with Dimitri Payet playing. He returned at the weekend and scored a brace against Lens so he is a welcome return.

Jorge Sampaoli’s side have made their home ground somewhat of a fortress and despite losing last time out, they should have enough to get the job done against an underwhelming Galatasaray.

It’s a big ask for Galatasaray to claim two wins in their opening two games and we’re expecting a Dimitri Payet inspired Marseille to outclass the Turkish outfit and claim their first win in this competition.
