Another home success for OM

Marseille have been strong at home this season, winning seven of their ten Ligue 1 games, and they should be backed to get the victory against Strasbourg. The visitors have won three, drawn two and lost six on their travels.

Marseille are fourth in Ligue 1, three places and nine points above seventh-placed Strasbourg, with a record of 12 wins, three draws and six losses from their 21 games this season. There have been 45 games between teams in the top half of the table overall, and 25 (56%) have gone the way of the home team, for a profit of 7.76 points to a one-point level stake.

Strasbourg lost 2-1 to Le Havre last weekend in their last Ligue 1 outing and could not break their losing run. Martial Godo hit the back of the net for Strasbourg, but the result means they have now failed to win three of the eight games in which they have been priced odds-on this season.

Marseille are in goalscoring form, having scored three goals or more in eight of their 21 Ligue 1 games this season. They have been particularly impressive at home, scoring an average of two goals a game in their four home games against other top-half teams.

Their defence has been leaky on their travels, with no clean sheets in their last ten Ligue 1 away games. They have conceded 20 goals from 11 matches this season – an average of 1.82 goals against per game.

Marseille may be able to edge out Strasbourg in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Both teams have scored in six of Strasbourg’s last eight Ligue 1 games and they have lost their last two matches by a single goal. Marseille were 2-1 winners against Strasbourg last time they met in the league.
