Marseille on the up under Gattuso

A testing few weeks lie ahead for Marseille and they should not pass up the opportunity for three points when they host Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Friday.

After this weekend’s encounter, Marseille visit Rennes in the last 32 of the French Cup before facing Monaco and Lyon in the league.

As it stands they are six points off the top three and need to start getting wins on the board and they can do exactly that, even though Strasbourg are only three places below them in the standings.

Marseille have won six of their last eight games in all competitions and things are starting to settle under Gennaro Gattuso.

They can record maximum points in this one but it could be a slow burner with Strasbourg in the top half themselves with only 22 goals conceded in 17 matches – the same as third-placed Monaco.
