Melbourne City vs Sydney FC Betting Tips

Melbourne City’s four match winning streak in the Hyundai A-League saw them climb the ladder over the past month or so and close the gap on the league leaders Western Sydney Wanderers.

But despite their excellent form they found themselves lacking last weekend as they lost 3-1 away to Brisbane Roar and they will be looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

Melbourne City’s good form has put them in 3^rd position in the A-League with 20 points from their opening 12 games, six points off the leaders.

Level on points with Melbourne City are Sydney FC, who sit behind them on goal difference in 4^th position.

The visitors managed to get back to winning form last weekend when they beat Central Coast Mariners 4-1 at home. Overall they are in pretty poor form though, with that being just their 2^nd win in their last eight outings in the A-League. Only two of those have been defeats though to be fair.

Melbourne City have been involved in some very high scoring matches so far this season. Each of their last five games have ended with three or more goals and only two of their 12 A-League games have seen under three goals scored.

The home side are by far the highest scoring side in the league, with a massive tally of 30 goals from their 12 A-League games so far.

Sydney FC have also seen three or more goals in two of their last three outings in the A-League.

This is understandably making me look towards an Over 2.5 Goals bet, and I think odds of 7/10 for this outcome are very good value considering that Melbourne City have scored 17 goals in their last five matches.

I think the home side can get the win as well, so I’m also going for a 3-1 Melbourne City win at 16/1 as well.
