Melbourne Victory vs Brisbane Roar Predictions
Four straight defeats a few weeks ago for Melbourne Victory cast serious doubts over their ability to defend the Hyundai A-League title that they won last season.
However, back on home turf they managed to end this losing streak, but they have still only won one of their last seven A-League matches.
Melbourne Victory’s last match was a 3-3 draw away to Central Coast Mariners, a result which leaves them in 5th position in the A-League with seven points separating them from the leaders.
And those leaders are Brisbane Roar, who sit at the top of the table with a one point advantage over 2nd placed Western Sydney Wanderers.
But the title challengers couldn’t manage a win last weekend when they visited Wellington Phoenix. That goalless draw ended their four match winning streak, although they are still enjoying a five match unbeaten streak.
It’s not looking likely that they can get a win on Friday either. Melbourne Victory’s poor spell of form occurred during a run of four away matches in a row. At home they haven’t lost since April, with four of their five home A-League matches ending in victory for Melbourne Victory.
Brisbane Roar, on the other hand, have only managed one win from their last six away days in the A-League and have lost twice.
Melbourne Victory have also won their last four matches in a row against Brisbane Roar, with the visitors only managing to score once against them during that period.
This makes me look towards a Melbourne Victory win on Friday, and with excellent value odds of 1/1 I think we have found our bet. I’m also going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 11/1 as well.
