      Middlesbrough vs QPR Predictions

A run of just 2 wins in 11 Championship games was enough for the QPR board to part company with Chris Ramsey. Neil Warnock has returned to the club as interim boss but will know he faces a tough challenge to repeat the promotion to the Premier League, he secured during his first spell at the club.

Rangers have looked better defensively in recent weeks but it has come at the cost of them looking far less threatening at the other end. They have failed to score in 4 of their last 5 matches including a disappointing 0-0 home draw against newly promoted Preston last time out.

By contrast Middlesbrough had been going well and were firing in the goals but were brought back down to Earth by a convincing 3-0 defeat at fellow promotion hopefuls Hull City last time out.

They are very strong at the Riverside though, where they have won 7 of their 9 home games this season and have netted 3 goals in over half of those games. Warnock isn’t going to throw caution to the wind here but neither is he likely to park the bus.

QPR’s strengths are in the attacking third and in Charlie Austin they have the most dangerous striker in the league so it would foolish to just settle for defensive football and not play to their strengths.

That should help create and open game and certainly Middlesbrough look good value at 4/5 to score 2 or more goals in it.

They should have enough to seal the 3 points too given how poorly QPR have been playing but the Londoners are dangerous opponents on their day and have enough quality to cause Boro some problems so an away goal could be on the cards too.

If you’re looking for a correct scoreline bet consider backing a 2-1 home win at odds of 15/2.
