Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Four of Watford’s last five matches in league and cup have featured goals at both ends as have three of Millwall’s last four assignments. BTTS also landed in each of last season’s two encounters between the clubs.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Both Millwall and Watford have been struggling for consistency and they could be difficult to separate at The Den. Millwall have been averaging just 0.8 goals per game in the Championship, while Watford have scored just six times in five matches in the division, so back the teams to finish level at 1-1.

Millwall vs Watford Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in four of Watford’s last five matches in league and cup.
  • Three of Millwall’s last four games (in the Championship & Carabao Cup) have produced goals at both ends.
  • BTTS has also landed in three of the last four meetings between these clubs.

Both teams to impact the scoresheet at The Den

Millwall lost to Crystal Palace on penalties in the Carabao Cup midweek, however, their performance at Selhurst Park was positive and the visitors impressed despite manager Alex Neil’s decision to make eight changes to his usual starting XI.

Millwall notched an injury-time leveller through Ryan Leonard to force spot kicks on Tuesday and though results have been mixed this term, the Lions have been consistent scorers, failing to score in only two of their last eight games in all competitions.

Neil’s side didn’t register in their last Championship home game against Wrexham (0-2), though it wasn’t for the want of trying and Millwall racked up 21 attempts to their opponent’s six in an undeserved loss.

Millwall should have more joy on Monday evening against a Watford side that is still angling for its first clean sheet of the campaign.

Like Millwall, Watford have been blowing hot and cold since the summer, though they have scored in four of their last five matches, with last weekend’s blip against Blackburn (1-0) the only exception.

Three of Watford’s last four Championship fixtures have featured goals at both ends, and a bet in that direction would also have landed in three of the Hornets’ last four meetings with Millwall.

With prices attractive, the same market is of interest here, while a 1-1 correct score prediction feels like a good fit for two teams who have been unable to string victories together. Millwall have been averaging just 0.8 goals per game in the second tier, while Watford have fared only slightly better (1.20), so a goal apiece is anticipated at The Den.
