Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Ten of Monaco’s last 12 games have seen both teams score, as have each of Lorient’s last three away games, while the visitors have managed only one clean sheet in their last 15 outings.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Monaco have scored exactly once in four of their last eight games, including a pair of 1-1 draws. Lorient have conceded exactly once in three of their last four outings, but only failed to score in two of their seven most recent fixtures.

Monaco vs Lorient Predictions

  • Ten or Monaco’s last 12 games have seen both teams score
  • Both teams have also netted in three successive Lorient away fixtures
  • Monaco are winless in five outings at home

Monaco eying second place

A 1-0 win at Strasbourg last weekend means Monaco head into this round of fixtures in third place in the Ligue 1, table their results have been a little patchy in recent months.

Adi Hütter’s side haven’t registered back-to-back victories since December, while their home form remains a mystery, given their five outings at Stade Louis II in 2024 have yielded merely two points.

Indeed, they have only kept one clean sheet there during that time, with both teams scoring in three of those outings, as they have done in ten of their most recent dozen games at all venues.

Lorient’s away form boosting survival chances

That bodes well for visitors Lorient, who are on a staggering run of four wins from their last six games, and have therefore moved out of the relegation zone, although only on goal difference, ahead of this round.

Three of those victories have come on the road, with both teams scoring in each of those outings, including a recent 2-1 success at Rennes.

Indeed, clean sheets have been a problem for Regis Le Bris’ side – they have managed only one in 15 games since early November, but have at least fixed their problems at the other end of the field.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, and given the respective form of the two sides, it could be a close one, with 1-1 my correct score prediction.
