Reason For Nac Breda vs ADO Den Haag Predictions

Both Breda and Den Haag returned from the winter break with a defeat in the league last weekend, and the pair continue their search for the first points of the new year against one another on Friday. Five points and five places separate these two clubs in the Eredivisie table, and for Breda to move out of the relegation zone they are going to need to win by three clear goals on Friday.

Pol Llonch opened the scoring for Willem II at home to Breda last weekend in what turned out to be a fairly comfortable win for the hosts. With a 1-0 lead at the interval, Willem II were in control of this match and were limiting their guests to very few clear cut scoring opportunities. In the second half Breda got on the ball more, but never really looked like scoring and insult was added to injury late on when midfielder El Allouchi was shown a straight red card. Things went from bad to worse in stoppage time as Willem II secured all three points with a second goal through substitute Vrousai.

A thirteenth minute Becker goal saw Den Haag take the lead at home against VVV, but Joosten’s fourth league goal of the campaign in the forty-first minute ensured the two teams went in level at the break. Just six minutes into the second half and Joosten doubled his and his sides tally for the afternoon, but on the hour mark Falkenburg levelled for the hosts, to make it 2-2. VVV took command of this game following the sending-off of Den Haag goalkeeper Zwinkels in the eightieth minute, as Mlapa converted the subsequent penalty to put the visitors back in front. Extra stoppage time was added due to the delay between the sending-off and Den Haag bringing on a replacement keeper, but it was VVV that scored the games sixth goal through Grot to wrap up an impressive 4-2 win.

When Breda and Den Haag last met back in October they played out a 1-1 draw, as they have done in three of their last six encounters. When these two sides have met in recent seasons it more often than not results in both teams getting on the scoreboard, with five of their last seven matches against one another seeing both team score. Breda have managed one clean sheet from their last six matches, while Den Haag have two during that same period. Three of Breda’s and four of Den Haag’s last six matches have ended with both teams on the scoreboard, all of which points to goals being scored at both ends of the pitch on Friday.

Breda’s top scorer te Vrede picked up a knock in the hosts last game and could miss Friday’s match, which would be a real blow as he has scored nine goals in the Eredivisie this season. El Khayati has twelve goals in the league alone for Den Haag and has been the visitors best player this season. We’re confident that both teams will score in Friday’s game, and have backed the final score to end 1-1. Both teams form is inconsistent and while each will view this game as winnable, a draw wouldn’t be a bad result for either side. A lot will depend on the injuries to both teams and particularly if te Verde manages to get himself fit in time to play, while Den Haag will be without their first choice goalkeeper, which is so often problematic for any club.
