Napoli vs Leicester City Predictions
- Over 2.5 goals has landed in Napoli’s last five games and in Leicester’s last five.
- The reverse fixture finished 2-2.
- All of Napoli’s group stage games have seen at least three goals scored.
- Piotr Zielinski has three goals in his last five games.
Napoli and Leicester battle for knockout spot
Napoli and Leicester meet in the final round of Europa League group stage games on Thursday and there is a real chance one of these teams will be eliminated from the competition.
The Foxes lead the way in Group C with eight points, just one ahead of Napoli in third and two above Legia Warsaw at the bottom of the standings.
Leicester could lose and still progress depending on the other result in the group, while Napoli probably need a win to avoid dropping into the Europa Conference League or out of European competition altogether.
With so much at stake it is hard to go for a result with any real confidence but the goals markets do look a good option and over 2.5 goals stands out.
Go for Goals at the Diego Maradona
There are definitely goals in both of these teams and both of their defences have struggled recently. Both teams to score is an option, but at a marginally bigger price over 2.5 goals looks the best bet here.
Napoli have scored in each of their last nine games and Leicester have only failed to score in two of their last 13 in all competitions. Over 2.5 goals has landed in all of Napoli’s last five fixtures and in all of their Europa League group stage games, while there have been at least three goals scored in each of the visitors’ last five games and in three of their five group stage games.
The reverse fixture finished 2-2 in the East Midlands, and we could be set for a similarly high-scoring encounter on Thursday.
Partenopei may edge this tie
Napoli’s form has dipped recently and they have just one win in their last six games but most of the Partenopei’s troubles have come on the road and at their Stadio Diego Armando Maradona home they have six wins in their last nine games. Leicester are winless in their last three games away from home and went down 2-1 at Aston Villa last time our, so home advantage may just prove the difference and at a big price a 3-2 win for Napoli has some appeal as a correct score bet.
Finally, Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski is a contender for a goal at anytime after hitting some form. The Polish playmaker has three goals in his last five appearances, as well as two assists, and with Victor Osimhen and Lorenzo Insigne out injured will take on more attacking responsibility against Leicester on Thursday.
