Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Seven of the Netherlands’ last ten games have gone over 3.5 goals while there have been five or more goals in four of Norway’s last five matches, with the visitors keeping only one clean sheet in that run. Both nations are in flying form and that should lead to a free-scoring encounter.

Netherlands 2-1

Reason for tip

The absence of Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard for Norway is a factor and the Netherlands look the most likely victors with home advantage. A 2-1 win for Oranje could be the way to profit, with goals set to flow.

Netherlands vs Norway Predictions

  • Seven of Netherlands’ last eight home games have gone over 3.5 goals
  • Both teams have scored in four of Norway’s last five matches
  • Both sides are unbeaten in 12 games

Rampant attacks set to shine bright

Netherlands and Norway have both booked their place at the World Cup finals in Canada, Mexico and the United States this summer and everything points to a high-scoring showdown in Friday’s friendly at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Netherlands went unbeaten during qualifying, topping Group G at Poland’s expense with 20 points collected from their eight games, and they flexed their attacking muscles with 27 goals scored.

Norway, meanwhile, surpassed Italy to top spot in Group I and they showcased their quality with eight wins from eight games, proving even more emphatic than the Dutch with 37 goals scored.

With Oranje unbeaten in 12 internationals in 90 minutes and Norway winning 11 of their 12 matches since October 2024, something has to give in Amsterdam and the goals are expected to flow.

Netherlands were semi-finalists at Euro 2024 and they have the pedigree, but Norway are a rising force even if talisman Erling Haaland is expected to miss out as manager Stale Solbakken manages the Manchester City striker’s workload.

Norway captain Martin Odegaard has also been out of action for a month but Alexander Sorloth, Jorgen Strand Larsen, Oscar Bobb and Antonio Nusa highlight a new-found strength in depth and they are unlikely to go down without a fight.

Seven of the Netherlands’ last ten games have gone over 3.5 goals while there have been five or more goals in four of Norway’s last five matches, albeit the visitors have kept only one clean sheet in that run.

Given the attacking talent on show and the confidence in each camp, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals makes most appeal.

However, the absence of Haaland and Odegaard is a factor and the Netherlands look the most likely victors with home advantage. A 2-1 win for Oranje could be the way to profit.
