Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United Predictions
Newcastle Jets weren’t in action on the opening weekend of the new season but secured a point a week later courtesy of a 1-1 draw at Central Coast Mariners, while Adelaide United have had a tough start to the campaign and suffered another narrow defeat last time out at Melbourne City and are still searching for the first points.
All of the stats suggest that we will see goals in this game at both ends of the pitch and we have backed BTTS and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1.
Both teams scored in three of the last five meetings between these two clubs but under 2.5 goals were produced in three of the duo’s last four encounters, so we’re not expecting any more than two goals on Saturday. Adelaide United are unbeaten in their last five matches against Newcastle Jets and both teams are yet to win in the new A-League season, so it for that reason that we have backed these two teams to play out a 1-1 draw this weekend.
The performances of both clubs during pre-season and in the opening fixtures of the new campaign add weight to our prediction for goals at both ends of the pitch this weekend, as both teams scored in four of Newcastle Jets’ and four of Adelaide United’s last six matches, while under 2.5 goals were produced in each of the hosts’ last four matches which complies with our 1-1 draw prediction.
Neither side have looked completely comfortable at the back over the last month or so, with Newcastle Jets only keeping one clean sheet in their last six attempts and Adelaide United managing just two clean sheets in their last six matches. However, Adelaide United have scored in all of their last six matches and will be confident they can extend that record this weekend.
We’re confident that both teams will score on Saturday and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1 between the pair. Newcastle Jets don’t have the best of recent records against their guests and only managed a draw in their opening game of the season against a Central Coast Mariners side that are expected to struggle this season. Adelaide United have lost their opening to matches but only narrowly and will be determined to get their first points of the season on the board this weekend before losing starts to become a habit.
