Newcastle Jets vs Perth Glory Betting Tips

Newcastle Jets finally managed to break out of their winless streak last weekend when they beat Wellington Phoenix 3-1 at home.

This ended a run of ten Hyundai A-League matches without a win for the struggling side. Six of their last 11 outings have ended in defeat for the Jets as well, so they will be incredibly happy to break out of this dismal run.

However, the jury is still out on whether they can build on this win and put together any sort of good run of form.

Goalscoring has been Newcastle Jets major problem during their poor form. Their win last weekend is the only time they have managed to score since the beginning of December, a run of seven matches.

This leaves them down in 8^th place in the Hyundai A-League with 16 points from their first 15 games. This is a poor points tally, but to be fair it’s already four points more than they managed in the whole of last season. Perth Glory sit below them in 9^th position with three fewer points than them.

Perth Glory haven’t managed to find a win in any of their last five matches, although they have only lost twice.

However, they aren’t looking too bad at the moment, and their low points tally is largely down to a dreadful start to their campaign.

But this will be a difficult match for Perth Glory. They have been dreadful away from home this season, losing six of their seven away days in the A-League and drawing the other one to give them a measly return of one point from a possible 21.

This gives Newcastle Jets an excellent chance to pick up back to back wins for the first time since October, and I think they’ll take advantage of the visitors poor away record and get a win. Odds of 6/4 for this outcome look good to me too, and I’m also going for a narrow 1-0 win at 15/2.
