      Nice vs Bastia Predictions

Nice have had an excellent season so far and find themselves up in 3rd position in Ligue 1. They aren’t in with much hope of challenging Monaco in 2nd, but they do need to hold off a host of the chasing pack. A loss this weekend could see them drop to as low as 8th in the table as Ligue 1’s race for a European qualification position heats up.

Bastia’s recent run of good form has seen them start to work their way up the table too. Their awful form in the first half of the season saw them in relegation trouble, but three wins from their last four matches has seen them move six points clear of the bottom three.

      Reasons for Betting Tips

Nice may have suffered a bit of a dip in form recently, but that has largely been down to a run of tough away fixtures. At home they have won three of their last four and managed to get a draw against Marseille in their last home match.

Nice’s defensive record at home is looking pretty good as well, and the fact that they have conceded just three goals in their last five home games won’t make for good reading for Bastia, who are the 3rd lowest scorers in Ligue 1.

It gets even worse for Bastia away from home. They have lost eight of their 13 away days in the league and scored just six goals in the process. This makes Nice the hot favourites in my book, and a narrow 1-0 win looks likely too considering Bastia’s recent upturn in form and confidence.

      Recent Form

      Nice: DDLWLWW

      Bastia: WWLWLLW

      Head to Head

Recent history between these two has been very even, with each team taking three wins from their last six encounters.

      Statistics

Bastia have failed to score in 54% of their away matches so far this season, while Nice have conceded an average of a goal per game on home turf.

      Team News

Bastia – First team defenders Sebastian Squillaci and Gilles Cioni will miss this match through injury for Bastia, with backup defender Alexander Djiku joining them. Midfielder Christopher Maboulou is the only other absentee for the visitors.
