Bradford to Win

Reason for tip

Bradford have won 11 of the last 16 matches against Northampton and will not fear a Cobblers side that have won only one of their last seven at Sixfields, failing to score in three of their last five at home. The Bantams were not great on the road last season, but have gone well enough in pre-season to suggest a win is possible.

Bradford 2-0

Reason for tip

Four of Bradford’s last six League Two matches have gone over 2.5 goals. Moreover, both teams have scored in four of Northampton’s last six League Two matches.

Stephen Humphrys To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Steven Humphrys registered a league-high six shots with three on target against Wycombe last weekend. He bagged nine League One goals for Barnsley last season and was only denied by a brilliant point-blank save last time out.

Northampton vs Bradford Predictions

  • Bradford have won 11 of the last 16 matches against Northampton
  • Northampton have failed to score in three of their last five home matches
  • Steven Humphreys registered six shots with three on target against Wycombe last weekend

Bantams look sharp and hungry

Bradford began life in League One with a bang last weekend and their promotion momentum can carry them to a victory at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday. The Bantams were quickest out of the traps against Wycombe Wanderers with two goals inside the opening 13 minutes putting them on the path to a 2-1 home win.

Graham Alexander’s side had the best home record in League Two last season, so perhaps it should not have been a surprise that they were able to see off one of the beaten playoff teams from last term.

Winning on the road will be much tougher for the West Yorkshire side, who were the 16th best away team in the league below, but their players looked sharp and hungry enough to catch out a poor Cobblers team.

Cobblers’ newcomers are yet to gel

Kevin Nolan’s side slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Wigan in their opening fixture and looked like strangers to one another as eight players made their debuts. Patience will be required during this bedding-in period for the new faces, but that means they should probably be swerved on the betting front.

Bradford are an attractive price to win at Sixfields, where Northampton ave won only one of their last seven matches. The Cobblers have failed to score in three of their last five home games.

Steven Humphreys could be an interesting pick to grab a goal after he registered six shots, three on target, last Saturday and was only denied a goal by a brilliant point-blank save late on.
