Northampton vs Oldham Predictions

Goals at both ends expected

After FA Cup defeats last week for both, Northampton and Oldham returned to league action at the weekend. The hosts dropped to fifth after a 1-1 draw at Bradford City but remain in the hunt for promotion while Oldham climbed out of the relegation zone with an impressive 3-2 victory over high-flying Port Vale.

The visitors ended a seven-game winless run in all competitions with that victory against third-place Vale so should show no fear heading to Sixfields on Tuesday.

Northampton’s home form to prevail

Oldham have scored just five goals in eight away league matches and travel to take on a club with the joint-best defence in the league. However, Northampton have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five matches and are without a win since the Halloween weekend.

Northampton have won three in a row at home in the league though so I do expect them to take all three points. Don’t write Oldham off in the goals market though after a strong showing last time out – they should score at least one. Back 2-1 in the correct score market.
