Norway vs Slovakia Predictions
- Norway have scored in five of their seven home games since the start of 2021.
- Norway have kept a clean sheet in five of their last nine home games.
- Slovakia will be without captain and all-time top scorer Marek Hamsik through injury.
Return of the Braut
The Norwegians enter this set of international friendly matches after missing out on a place in the European playoffs for a place in the World Cup, ultimately finishing third in their group. Stale Solbakken’s men had accumulated five victories from their first eight games but they fell behind Turkey after a below-par performance on home soil against Latvia – drawing the match 0-0. The hosts will be pleased that they can once again call on one of the most sought after players in world football in Erling Braut Haaland and will look to him to lead the line and be the difference.
Slovakia also were unable to finish inside the top two places of their qualifying group and ended eight points behind second-placed Russia. It was hardly surprising though as they made a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign, claiming just two victories from their opening nine matches. Boss Stefan Tarkovic has called up an experienced squad, but they will be unable to call on talisman Marek Hamsik as the Trabzonspor star is out with an injury.
Norway to find a way
The return of Haaland could mean there are goals aplenty here, however, we think it could be a tight match as he looks to gain some fitness. We think the hosts have superior quality and they should be winning here, irrespective of the fact that it’s a friendly.
