Norwich and Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Norwich have enjoyed a solid pre-season, losing just one of their seven matches, and that form is far better than MK Dons’ record of three defeats in their last five games. The Dons do pose an attacking threat, though, evidenced by their tally of 45 away goals last term, and they can net in defeat at Carrow Road.

      Norwich 2-1

      Reason for tip

Four of Norwich’s nine home wins in last season’s Championship were by 2-1 scorelines, beating the likes of Coventry and Southampton, and the Canaries can register the same result against an MK Dons side who scored at least once in 21 of their 23 away matches in the 2025-26 League Two campaign.

      Norwich vs MK Dons Predictions

      • Norwich lost just once during pre-season
      • MK Dons lost three of their last five pre-season games
      • The Dons scored in 21 of their 23 away matches in the 2025-26 League Two campaign

      Canaries to edge entertaining encounter

Philippe Clement turned Norwich’s form around last season, taking the club from 23rd in the Championship to a ninth-placed finish, and there is plenty of optimism over what he can achieve this term off the back of a full pre-season.

The Canaries have brought in Sam Field, Andre Brooks and Bruno Alves this summer to strengthen the squad and there have been positive signs over the last month, with a 2-0 friendly win over Premier League outfit Fulham the biggest highlight.

Norwich’s home form improved under Clement in 2025-26 and his side won four of their last seven home fixtures, although they kept just two clean sheets during this period and defence is still a problem area.

Saturday’s hosts should have enough attacking quality to see off last season’s League Two runners-up MK Dons in this EFL Cup first-round clash, but the visitors will provide a stern challenge and they are expected to get on the scoresheet.

The Dons scored in 21 of their 23 away matches in England’s fourth tier and they were the division’s leading scorers overall, netting 86 times, but they won just one of their last four away games, conceding in all of them.
