Tip Reasoning

  • Nottingham Forest have 10 points from the last 12 available.
  • Forest are yet to keep a clean sheet at home and Blackpool have scored in all of their away games.
  • Lewis Grabban has scored four goals in his last six appearances.

In-form Forest can end Blackpool’s purple patch

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a strong start under new boss Steve Cooper and they will be looking to continue their fine form when Blackpool visit on Saturday.

Cooper has managed seven points from his first three games in charge and Forest have picked up 10 points from the last 12 available.  Blackpool have an identical record over the same period, but Forest look like a team on the up and they can bring an end to the Seasiders’ four-game unbeaten run.

The Reds are yet to win at home in the league this term but Cooper has only overseen one game at the City Ground, a 1-1 draw with Millwall in his first game in charge.  Blackpool have only lost once in five games on their travels (W1, D3) but they have perhaps rode their luck a bit recently.  The Tangerines may have taken 10 points from their last four games, but in three of those fixtures they saw less of the ball and in none of those games did they manage more shots on target than their opponents.

That luck may well run out against an in-form Forest side, who have scored six goals and conceded just once in their last two games.

A home win at just shy of evens is a strong option here but this fixture provides an opportunity to back a home win and both teams to score at a big price.  Forest haven’t managed a clean sheet in seven home games in all competitions so far, while Blackpool have proven to be a team that know how to make the most of their chances and have scored in all of their away games this term.  As Forest have managed three goals in each of their last two games, a 3-1 home win is the pick in the correct score market.

Forest striker Lewis Grabban has four goals in his last six games, despite being forced off in the first half once and then making a second half substitute appearance in another, and looks a candidate for an anytime goal on Saturday.
