Olympiakos vs Arsenal Betting Tips

Olympiakos are in a rather unexpected position coming into the final game of the Champions League group stages.

They sit in 2^nd position in Group F, three points clear of 3^rd placed Arsenal and three points behind leaders Bayern Munich. They know that simply avoiding defeat on Wednesday will secure them a place in the Champions League knockout stages.

Olympiakos are in good form coming into the match as well, with seven wins and one loss making up their last eight results in all competitions. They will also be buoyed by the fact they beat Arsenal at the Emirates earlier in the group stages.

But they know that a defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday would see the 3^rd place side leapfrog them on goal difference. I would imagine that it will be backs to the wall time for the Greeks.

The Gunners don’t come into this game in particularly good form though. They have only won two of their last six games in all competitions, losing to West Brom and Bayern Munich and drawing against Norwich and Spurs.

Poor form from the other Premier League title contenders sees them remain in 2^nd position in the league, two points off league leaders Leicester.

Their Champions League campaign has been less impressive though. They have lost to Bayern Munich, Dinamo Zagreb, and Olympiakos in their five group matches.

Past meetings between the sides doesn’t bode well for the visitors either. Olympiakos have won foru and lost three of their seven meetings with Arsenal, and they have won all three of their home matches against them.

Arsenal will undoubtedly be going all out for the win on Wednesday, but I think it will be difficult for them. Olympiakos could certainly set up to keep the Gunners out for the duration, and it’s never easy trying to get through an 11 player back line.

I think odds of 3/4 for an Olympiakos Win or Draw Double Chance are incredibly good value, so that’s what I’m backing. I’m also going for a 1-1 draw at 6/1.
