Brazil To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Brazil are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Paraguay and given the last four in that run have seen them keep a clean sheet, it may be worth backing them to bounce back from their draw with Costa Rica by beating La Albirroja, who have failed to net in seven of their last ten, to nil.

Brazil 2-0

Reason for tip

Brazil’s poor finishing cost them three points against Costa Rica and that is unlikely to be completely fixed overnight. Paraguay restricted an in-form Colombia to just two goals in their opener and they may have enough to keep things respectable against the Selecao.

Paraguay vs Brazil Predictions

  • Brazil are unbeaten in five matches under Dorival Junior
  • Paraguay have lost eight of their last 15 games, winning only three times in that run
  • The Selecao are unbeaten in five matches against these opponents, winning to nil three times in that streak
  • Paraguay have failed to score in seven of their last ten games

Back Brazil to spring into life

Brazil were frustrated by Costa Rica in their Copa America, being held to a 0-0 draw in California, but there were positive signs regardless of the result and the Samba Stars could make amends against Paraguay.

The Selecao took 19 shots in their opener, had a goal disallowed, controlled the game by having 74 per cent of the possession and built up an impressive 1.33 expected goals while restricting Costa Rica to 0.03 in the same statistic.

On another day Brazil win comfortably, and they will be looking to take out their frustration on Paraguay, who lost their opener 2-1 to Colombia.

Solid Selecao can land comfortable victory

Brazil’s attacking play against Costa Rica was impressive, as highlighted by their expected goals, but their defensive efforts to allow only one shot in California is what could really make the difference against Paraguay.

La Albirroja are winless in their last five matches against the Selecao and have failed to score in each of the last four, a trend which seems likely to continue on Saturday.

A frustrated Brazil will be eager to silence their doubters, including Ronaldinho who has vowed not to watch them for the foreseeable future, and Paraguay, who have lost eight of their last 15 matches and have failed to score in seven of their last ten, could be beaten easily by Dorival Junior’s men.
