Dynamo Kiev to Win

Reason for tip

Partizan lost three of their last five home league games last season and have also lost two of their last three home European matches. They look there for the taking for a Dynamo Kiev team have won seven, drawn one and lost one competitive away matches in 2024.

Dynamo Kiev 3-1

Reason for tip

Dynamo Kiev scored six goals in the first leg and it could easily have been more, such was their determination and domination. Partizan’s pride should prevent them from scoring as many in Belgrade, but a win with a few goals can be anticipated given the tie looks to be over. The home side conceded multiple goals in two of their three Moscow pre-season games, so defensive issues remain. However, they usually score at home, whoever the opponents so a 3-1 defeat could be on the cards here.

Partizan Belgrade vs Dynamo Kiev Predictions

Dynamo to double up in Belgrade

Dynamo Kiev were far too dynamic for Partizan in last week’s first leg in Poland and should run out winners again when the Serbs try to salvage something from a Champions League qualifying tie that already looks lost on Wednesday,

Partizan were panned for their performance in the 6-2 defeat by the Belgrade newspapers with some very unflattering comparisons made to head coach Aleksandar Stanojević and his players.

It is hard to envisage how the under-fire squad can turn the tie around even if they did take the first step towards regaining some pride in a 4-0 league win on Saturday.  Meanwhile. the Ukrainian side had the weekend off and should be able to field the same starting line-up that took Partizan apart in Lublin.

Russian visit riled Shovkovskiy’s side

Oleksandr Shovkovskiy’s team dominated the first match and should have scored more goals than the six they settled for in the end. They gained extra motivation from Partizan’s pre-season trip to Russia and took it upon themselves to show no mercy in the match.

That is unlikely to change for this second leg and it would be no surprise to see the visitors on top again given Partizan’s mediocre home record.

The Belgrade side lost three of their final five league games at Stadion Partizan last season and have also been beaten in two of their last three home European games.
