Porto vs Academica Betting Tips

Porto are in pursuit of Sporting Lisbon after just about sneaking into the Last 16 phase of the Champions League. They’re unbeaten through 13 games with only an additional draw currently separating them in the standings.

Porto have won five straight games including pretty handy victories over Nacional and Pacos de Ferreira, both by 2-1, in their last two games. This is a pretty good all-round football team and it’s hard to argue you with a record where they’ve scored 27 times and conceded just six.

A 4-3 home win over Belenenses kept Academica interested in terms of hoping to stay alive in the Primeira Liga survival battle, but there’s no hiding from the fact that this team has struggled. Most concerning for Academica will be the goals conceded, they’ve allowed 23 in just 13 games and it’s a weakness that Porto might just exploit.

Three Reasons for Betting Tips

1. Nothing to save energy

There’s no reason why Porto would conserve energy here. They can go all out and we’d expect that to mean that goals are scored.

2. Academica just too weak defensively

We’re not convinced that they’ll have what it takes to keep the ball out of their net here and we’re expecting them to get overrun.
