Portugal vs Bulgaria Betting Tips & Predictions

Portugal qualified for Euro 2016 in impressive fashion despite losing their opening game against Albania. They won all of the following 7 to win the group and will be hopeful of an impressive showing this summer while they still have Cristiano Ronaldo at the peak of his powers. They lost 1-0 to Russia and beat Luxembourg in their most recent internationals when they named a fairly inexperienced squad for their November friendlies. They can rely on Ronaldo and several other more senior players here and may give one or two younger players a go too with another game against Belgium next week.

Bulgaria took just 11 points from their 10 qualifiers to miss out on the finals again. They weren’t involved in any games in November so haven’t played since beating Azerbaijan 1-0 at home in their final qualifier. They’ve not played a friendly since losing 4-0 to Turkey in June and will certainly look upon this as a building exercise towards the World Cup qualifiers which start later in the year and they have named a very inexperienced squad for these two matches.

That could be a risk though against side of Portugal’s quality and if Ronaldo is up for it, which he normally is when he captains his country, then we should see a comfortable home win. Portugal have a new crop of talent coming through and could be darkhorses this summer given the ease with which they qualified from what could have been a tricky group given there were no easy games in it. Backing Portugal -1.5 Asian Handicap at 2.025 looks worth a shout here given their squad has more experience and more quality.
