Spain to Win

Reason for tip

Spain are unbeaten in competitive football since March 2023 and have scored 14 goals in their last four matches, while Portugal have failed to beat Denmark, Croatia, and Scotland in the past year and lost the last time they faced La Roja.

Lamine Yamal To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Lamine Yamal scored a brace against France to rocket him to Ballon d’Or favouritism and the teenager heads to Munich having notched five goals in his last five appearances for club and country, while he has scored three goals in three appearances for Spain in 2025.

Portugal vs Spain Predictions

  • Spain have scored 14 goals in their last four games.
  • La Roja have conceded at least two goals in all four of these fixtures, though.
  • Luis de la Fuente’s side are unbeaten in competitive football in over two years.

Yamal inspires La Roja to sensational win

Spain won the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League on penalties after a goalless draw against Croatia, but the Euro 2024 champions should successfully defend their title with a bit more flourish against inaugural winners Portugal on Sunday.

La Roja put in another scintillating attacking performance in a nine-goal thriller against France on Thursday, but their defensive lapses almost cost them as Les Bleus scored three goals without reply in the final 20 minutes.

Lamine Yamal was, once again, the star of the show at the MHPArena, scoring a second-half brace to rocket him to Ballon d’Or favouritism. The 17-year-old has scored five goals in his last five appearances for club and country and has three goals in three international appearances in 2025.

Selecao to score in defeat in Munich

Luis de la Fuente’s side have not lost a competitive match in over two years, and they should be able to get at a Portugal defence after scoring an incredible 14 goals in their last four matches.

The Selecao are no slouches going forward, though, netting twice against Germany in the semi-final on Wednesday to make it ten goals in their last six matches. However, they have lost to Denmark and failed to beat Croatia and Scotland in the past year.

Spain won the last meeting between these sides and look good value to do so again on Sunday, but they have conceded twice or more in in each of their last four games, so a high-scoring 4-2 win for the Spaniards looks worth a small punt.
