Preston vs Millwall Predictions

Millwall are in good form and look set to continue their winning ways away at Preston on Saturday. Alex Neil’s side got a big win in their last Championship game and can secure another victory at Deepdale.

They beat Birmingham 3-0 in their last Championship game on Wednesday, with Femi Azeez opening the scoring in the 25th minute. This was expected to be a close match according to the pre-game betting, but Millwall were comfortable winners at odds of 29/20. They have won 13 of the 17 games in which they’ve scored first this season (76%).

Millwall are six places above Preston in the table, with both teams having won more games than they’ve lost this season. Millwall, third in the league, have won 17 and lost nine of their 34 games, while Preston are ninth with 12 wins and nine defeats.

Millwall have been in goalscoring form, finding the net at least twice in four of their last six Championship games. They have scored in nine consecutive matches, including a 4-0 victory over Charlton last month.

Preston could do with turning things around, having won just one of their last eight Championship matches. They are without a win in three games.

Preston have looked vulnerable at the back, failing to keep their opponents at bay in three straight Championship games. They have conceded in ten of their last 12 home matches and last kept a clean sheet against Portsmouth three weeks ago.

Millwall are on a winning run of two straight Championship away games and, with 11 of their 17 wins this season coming by a single goal, a 2-1 win for the visitors looks a decent correct-score bet. Three of Preston’s nine defeats in the league have been by that scoreline.
