PSG vs Galatasaray Predictions

• PSG already come into the game assured of finishing in top spot but will want to end the group phase in unbeaten fashion.
• PSG have won their last 5 home matches and all of said victories have been to nil.
• A win could see Galatasaray salvage a place in the Europa League, but they’d still be dependent on what Club Brugge do at home to Real Madrid.
• A win for the Turkish outfit doesn’t look particularly likely anyway, given they’ve won just 1 of their last 7 games on the road.

PSG looking to maintain high standards

Whilst there’s no competitive pressure on the game, PSG will still be hungry to end what’s been an excellent group stage campaign with another strong performance. After 5 matches, the Ligue 1 champions have dropped just two points, in a draw at Real Madrid and have been the dominant force in the group.

Also 5 points clear with a game in hand at the top of Ligue 1, all is going well at PSG and the feeling around the club is a good one. Having won 9 of their 10 games this season, including each of their last 5, confidence can be very high coming into Wednesday’s game and those taking to the pitch will be assured of their ability to get the job done.

Visitors aiming for a shock win

Whilst it’s not at all likely, Galatasaray know that a win in Paris could see them salvage a Europa League spot from what’s been a very weak group stage performance. The Turks have mustered just two points from their 5 matches so far; both against Brugge and having scored just once and conceded 9 times in the competition, it’s not hard to see why they’ve been struggling.

Domestically things aren’t going to plan for the visitors either and they are under a large amount of pressure from supporters. Indeed, Galatasaray are 6th in the Turkish Super Lig table and find themselves some 7 points short of top spot and that along with the fact they’ve won just 1 of their last 5 matches as well as 1 of their last 7 on the road has confidence low prior to making this trip

A routine home win seems likely

Ultimately, with the quality they have and the consistency they’ve been showing, PSG should be able to win Wednesday’s fixture with no problems at all. Man for man they are by far a stronger team than Galatasaray and having already defeated them in Turkey, they should be able to again here.

All things considered, we really like the look of backing a PSG win to nil and feel it provides excellent value at current prices. All 9 of PSG’s home wins this season have been accompanied by a clean sheet and with the visitors looking so shot shy in the Champions League, a 2-0 margin of home victory could well be on the cards.
