Burnley to Win

Reason for tip

Burnley recorded a commanding 3-0 win over Blackburn ahead of the World Cup break and they can pick up where they left off against a QPR side that have faced plenty of off-field drama.

Burnley 3-1

Reason for tip

Burnley’s last four games all produced over 2.5 total goals whilst they hit at least twice in each game during that sequence. We expect another hatful of Burnley goals in what could be an exciting encounter.

QPR vs Burnley Predictions

  • Six of the last eight of Burnley’s Championship games have produced over 2.5 goals.
  • No team has had more Championship wins with over 3.5 goals than Burnley have this season.
  • QPR have lost their last three matches.

It’s all change at Loftus Road

Although Michael Beale made bold statements about his loyalty to the club when offered a Premier League job with Wolves as QPR flew high in the Championship, he has now left the building during the World Cup pause to join his former club Rangers as manager.

Currently winless in five straight league games, QPR have fell away from the title race although achieving a play-off finish doesn’t seem beyond them if they can get their act together sooner rather than later.

That will be easier said than done against Burnley though, a side that have lost just twice in the league all season and sit pretty at the top of the tree with Christmas swiftly approaching.

Burnley should have enough quality to win

Backing Burnley is not without it’s risks as they’ve won just two of their last seven away games (D5, L1). However, the Clarets have only tasted defeat twice on their travels across their opening ten trips, so it seems a risk worth taking against a badly out-of-sorts QPR side.

With eight goals conceded across their last three away trips, it would perhaps be bold to suggest that Burnley will win this one to nil. Vincent Kompany’s side will aim to entertain as always but that may result in them shipping a goal in what we think could be a 3-1 victory for the visitors.
