QPR vs Sheffield United Predictions
- QPR have failed to win eight of their last nine Championship games.
- Sheffield United have won eight of their last nine Championship matches.
- The Blades are the only side to pick up maximum points across their last five away games.
QPR’s slide down the table may continue
Neil Critchley enjoyed a relatively solid start to life as QPR manager with back-to-back clean sheets to open his tenure, however a 3-0 defeat in their latest game means that QPR picked up three points in just one of the last nine rounds.
Playing at home is unlikely to be a boon for the hosts either, they’ve lost four consecutive home league games including back-to-back 3-0 whitewashes in the most recent two. QPR did defeat the Blades in the last H2H, but have not completed a league double over them since 2010/11.
The visit of Sheffield United is unlikely to inspire any QPR confidence, as the visitors sit comfortably in the top-two whilst boasting a perfect away record across the last five rounds.
Back the Blades to cut through QPR
Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom has a respectable personal record against QPR (W4, D1, L3) and should he oversee another victory here, it’ll be the first time Sheffield United have won three straight away games against QPR in club history.
Sheffield United are susceptible to a New Year’s hangover of sorts, losing their year opening league fixtures in 2020, 2021, and 2022 by 2-0 scorelines away from home. However, we’re backing them to stop that rot with a win over this out-of-sorts Hoops outfit.
To complete our selections, we’re going for a comprehensive 3-1 Sheffield United victory for small stakes in the correct score market.
