      Rangers vs Feyenoord Predictions

Rangers managed to bounce back from their recent Old Firm defeat at the weekend with a slightly laboured 3-1 win over a buoyant Livingston side. They had to battle back from a losing position at the break but a much more fluid second half performance won them the three points at Ibrox. Apart from the Celtic defeat before the international break, Rangers have generally began this season well, with four wins from five league matches and a handful of solid European performances to boot.

Rangers will be the hosts for this coming match and it’s without doubt the effect that Ibrox will have on their performance. They have only failed to win one of their last eleven home matches, with the Old Firm defeat being the obvious slip-up. They have scored 29 goals in this time and have conceded just five times during this run of games. Steven Gerrard’s team has also been rather impressive during his reign when playing in Europe. Out of 22 European matches managed, his side have won eleven and drawn nine, losing just twice. This stat is what fans will be hoping his team can show against Feyenoord here.

Feyenoord have also begun this season in great form with them still to lose in the league or in any of their Europa League qualifiers. They have won five and drawn four of their nine matches this season, with 19 goals scored in the process, but they have also kept just four clean sheets in that time, which isn’t exactly a perfect record.

However, their very recent form has been solid, with four wins in their last four games and just the two goals conceded, both own goals. This match will only be Jaap Stam’s tenth match in charge of Feyenoord and their away form has been solid under the Dutchman with two wins and two draws on the road so far.

Rangers have been so dominant at home recently and despite Feyenoord being a pretty historical club with a high-profile manager, we’re backing the Blues to get the win here. Rangers have been good under Gerrard in Europe and with Feyenoord being pushed to the edge in a 3-2 thriller at the weekend, we can see the hosts getting off the mark with all three points here. Feyenoord have scored in every match under Jaap Stam so far but Rangers are great at home, so we’re backing the Ibrox side to win 2-1.
