      Rayo Vallecano to Win

      Reason for tip

Elche’s four away points is the fewest in La Liga this term and they are unlikely to build on that measly tally at Rayo Vallecano. The hosts have lost only two of their last 15 home matches and should prove too strong for their travel-sick visitors.

      Rayo Vallecano 2-1

      Reason for tip

While Elche aren’t picking up many points on the road, they are at least scoring goals. Los Franjiverdes have netted in ten straight away games and can get on the scoresheet in defeat at Rayo Vallecano, who have managed only two clean sheets in eight home matches.

      Rayo Vallecano vs Elche Predictions

      • No La Liga team has taken fewer away points than Elche’s four this season
      • Rayo Vallecano have lost only two of their last 15 home matches
      • Elche have won only one of their last 13 games, losing eight

Rayo ready to move away from relegation zone

Having finished eighth last season, it is a surprise to see Rayo Vallecano sitting 14th in La Liga and only four points above the relegation spots this time around.

Their reward for finishing eighth, a spot in the Conference League, could explain their dip in domestic form but an international break should have given them time to recharge their batteries and they will get a golden opportunity to mark their return with a win when Elche visit on Friday.

The travel-sick Franjiverdes have been woeful on the road this term, picking up just four points from 14 away games, and their luck is unlikely to turn at Vallecano.

Elche’s travel troubles to go on in Madrid

Rayo may be struggling for consistency in general but their home form has remained impressive, with Inigo Perez’s side losing just one of their last 11 La Liga games at El Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.

That run includes a stunning 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid as well as draws with Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, so it is hard to see them being troubled by Elche on Friday.
