Rennes vs Marseille Predictions

Both sides have not been at their best

After going 13 matches unbeaten across all competitions on home soil. Rennes have had a minor wobble after losing 3-1 at home to Lille and following that up with a win over Clermont and then being dumped out of the Europa League by Shakhtar Donetsk. They’ll be keen to restore a feel good factor when playing at home but to do so, they’ll need to overcome second place Marseille.

Matches at Roazhon Park have been entertaining this season with at least three goals being witnessed on 10 occasions in the league. Both of these two outfits will be looking to claim three points which should lead to an open contest.

Exactly half of Marseille’s away league matches have seen three or more goals and given that they haven’t looked defensively solid of late, it looks likely they will concede. They lost an important title race clash against PSG and suffered embarrassment during the week as they were knocked out of the cup by second-tier side Annecy on penalties.

Goals look to be the way to go

The hosts will want to take advantage of Marseille’s recent slump and given they have scored in 12 of their 13 home league games, you’d be brave to bet against them scoring again. However, Marseille needs a response, and with that in mind, over 2.5 goals looks very appealing.
