Rennes ready for another victory 

Rennes have collected seven points from their opening three Ligue 1 games against PSG, Le Mans and Angers and the Rennais can continue their good start to the campaign by beating Marseille.

Franck Haise’s men hit 17 shots when winning 2-1 at Angers last weekend, and while the home side had chances of their own, Rennes took 22 shots when beating Le Mans 3-2 at Roazhon Park previously.

That is useful attacking output and the Rennais were good enough to draw 2-2 with PSG on home turf in their opening Ligue 1 contest.

Marseille conceded 18 shots and an expected goals figure of 3.29 in Sunday’s 3-2 home loss to Paris FC and that defeat followed a 2-0 reversal at Monaco.

The Phocaeans did beat Strasbourg 4-0 in their opening French top-flight contest, but the more recent performances have not been convincing and Nayef Aguerd and Emerson looked all at sea defensively in Marseille’s 3-2 loss to Paris FC.

Rennes set up well on the counter attack, and if Marseille allow any gaps in their backline, Haise’s men are good enough to take advantage and take victory at Roazhon Park.
