Rennes vs PSG Predictions
- Rennes have lost four games on the spin
- PSG have won ten of their last 11 Ligue 1 matches
- PSG have just three clean sheets in 11 away league games
Managerless Rennes may struggle
Rennes have had a disastrous time of things recently, losing four on the spin, sacking their manager as a result and seeing their star young player Jeremy Jacquet out with a potentially season-ending shoulder injury.
Things don’t get any easier as they host Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain on Friday. Luis Enrique’s men have won five of the last six meetings between these two teams and are currently on a seven-game winning streak in the league.
Their 5-0 win over rivals Marseille saw Roberto De Zerbi sacked but they are still only two points clear of Lens, who are putting up a spirited fight in the title battle.
Goals on the cards
Rennes had been rock-solid at the back in the first half of the season but the wheels have started to fall off as of late, they have shipped 12 goals in their last four games, and their issues at the back will only be exacerbated by Jacquet’s injury.
That is a big concern against a PSG side who can be so fluent going forwards, as they demonstrated in their 5-0 win over these opponents back in December.
Side with PSG to win a game in which over 3.5 goals also lands. The visitors have only kept three clean sheets in 11 away games however and a 3-1 win for Enrique’s side is the correct score pick.
