Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Three of the last five meetings between these two sides have ended all-square, with two of those contests finishing 1-1. With Ireland having also drawn with New Zealand by that scoreline in their final match of 2023 and two of Switzerland’s last four games finishing 1-1, that would appear the most likely outcome on Tuesday as well.

Republic Of Ireland vs Switzerland Predictions

  • Republic of Ireland have drawn back-to-back matches
  • Six of Switzerland’s last eight games have finished all-square
  • Three of the last five meetings between these two sides have ended in draws

Nothing to separate draw specialists

Republic of Ireland are still on the lookout for a new permanent manager but interim boss John O’Shea did lead his side to a more than credible 0-0 draw with Belgium on Saturday.

That was the Boys in Green’s second-successive draw after they played out a 1-1 stalemate with New Zealand in November in what was former boss Stephen Kenny’s final match in charge.

Switzerland have also drawn plenty of matches of late, with six of their last eight ending all square, while no team shared the spoils more often in Euro 2024 qualifying than Murat Yakin’s side, with half of their 10 such games ending in stalemate.

1-1 a familiar scoreline

To further emphasise the likelihood of a draw on Tuesday, three of the last five meetings between these two sides have finished all-square, with two of those contests ending 1-1.

That scoreline has also occurred in two of Switzerland’s last four games against Israel and Kosovo, while Ireland drew 1-1 with New Zealand in their final match of 2023.

There should not be much between these two sides in Dublin and they can both get on the scoresheet in a 1-1 draw.
