Roma vs Vitesse Predictions
- Roma are unbeaten in six matches, in all competitions.
- The Giallorossi have conceded just one goal in their last four outings.
- Only Juventus and the two Milan sides have beaten Roma at the Stadio Olimpico since Jose Mourinho took charge last summer.
- Vitesse are winless in four away matches, scoring just twice in those contests.
Giallorossi looking to seal spot in last eight
Having beaten Vitesse 1-0 with ten men in a hard-fought encounter last week, Jose Mourinho’s Roma will be confident of securing safe passage to the Europa Conference League quarter-finals on Thursday. That confidence will be amplified further, meanwhile, by their good home record and excellent recent defensive form.
Only Juventus, Inter Milan, and AC Milan have beaten the Giallorossi on their own turf since the special one took charge of the club, in all competitions, a spell which includes 20 home outings. Meanwhile, Roma are unbeaten in their last six matches, and are also unbeaten in six home games.
What should give Italy’s capital club the most confidence that they can preserve their advantage and advance to the last eight, however, is their strong defensive record. Roma shut out Vitesse in their one-goal victory in the Netherlands, and have now conceded just once in their last four games. Mourinho will therefore be confident that a visiting side with just two goals in their last four away matches, of which they’ve won none, can be kept at bay in the eternal city.
Solid Giallorossi can record another shutout win
With Mourinho intent on bringing the maiden Europa Conference League title to Rome as the Giallorossi chase a first trophy since 2008, they should be expected to maintain their solid run on Thursday.
The toothless visitors, meanwhile, have failed to score in three successive outings, making a shutout win for Roma the outstanding play.
Roma have also registered three 1-0 wins in their last four games, and Vitesse have lost two of their last three by the same scoreline. Another one-goal victory for the hosts, therefore, looks a good correct score prediction.
