Rotherham vs Middlesbrough Predictions

Victory at Hillsborough on Saturday was sweet for Rotherham fans who saw their side pull off a shock win to extend their good record away to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday and improve their chances of beating the drop. Former Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock would have enjoyed it too and he is looking like a very shrewd appointment by the Millers board. The experienced boss isn’t to everyone’s taste but he knows this league as well as anyone and appears to have got this Rotherham team organised and defending properly, which is something that they haven’t been doing for a long time.

Rotherham were also winners at home to Brentford the previous weekend and could even move out of the relegation zone if they can win this. This fixture is suddenly looking a whole lot trickier for Middlesbrough who were 2-1 winners at home to Wolves on Friday night. They lost their last away game at Blackburn though and are 1 point behind leaders Burnley having played 1 game fewer than the Lancashire outfit.

Rotherham’s home form has been a complete mixed bag over recent months. They’ve suffered heavy home defeats against relegation rivals Charlton and mid-table QPR but have won 5 of their last 9 league games at the New York Stadium which includes impressive wins over Hull and Brighton, two of the other sides in the top four with Boro. The Millers also held Birmingham to a point in Neil Warnock’s first home game and given Middlesbrough have only won 1 of their last 5 away games, all of which were against sides in the bottom 10 you have to think Rotherham can get something here.

Therefore consider backing Rotherham Double Chance at 23/20.
