Salernitana to Win

Reason for tip

Salernitana have won four of their last five home league matches while Frosinone have lost two of their last three away Serie B games. The visitors’ only win in their last seven games came at Sassuolo, who had nothing to play for and the stakes are so much higher in this clash.

Salernitana 2-1

Reason for tip

Salernitana have scored multiple goals in four of their last six matches. They should be able to get the job done with at least two goals to their name if the game opens out. Frosinone have conceded in eight of their last 11 away games, although rarely more than twice so a 2-1 home win may be on the cards.

Salernitana vs Frosinone Predictions

  • Salernitana have won four of their last five home league matches
  • Frosinone have lost two of their last three away Serie B games
  • Salernitana have scored multiple goals in four of their last six matches

Duo desperate to avoid the double drop

One year one from facing each other in Serie A, Salernitana and Frosinone will contest a two-legged relegation play-out in a bid to avoid a double drop.

Both were expected to contend for promotion this season, but disappointing Serie B campaigns ended last week with them occupying 16th and 17th places. Frosinone will host the second leg by virtue of finishing one place higher with one point more, but Salernitana have finished strongly and can gain an edge in this home opener.

Pasquale Marino’s men have the sixth-best form in the division over the last eight games with Frosinone’s only good enough for 14th, although they each claimed as many points over their last 10 fixtures.

I Ciociari have run out of steam

Frosinone appear to have run out of steam since pulling clear of trouble with four straight wins in March. I Ciociari have claimed only seven points from their last seven games with their only win coming in a cosy clash against leaders Sassuolo last week.

The two clubs are on friendly terms having done lots of business over the last few years and it was no surprise to see Sassuolo, who were already crowned champions, lower their standards in a 1-0 loss.

This will be a much tougher trip for them as they come up against a Salernitana side on a run of six wins in their last eight home games, including three in a row. Back the hosts to maintain their winning momentum at Stadio Arechi with a 2-1 first-leg victory.
