Salford have sights set on League One

A spectacular run of form has seen Salford move to within touching distance of the play-offs, and a fifth win in a row in this fixture would move them into seventh place.

Gary Bowyer’s side have hit form at the right time, but they still have a couple of defensive concerns, conceding in seven consecutive outings at Moor Lane.

They have failed to keep clean sheets against the likes of struggling Scunthorpe and Walsall and both teams have netted in five successive home games, but they are still managing to do enough to win.

Port Vale on a hot streak

Like Salford, Port Vale are in spectacular form, unbeaten in six and losing just one of their last 16 since mid-January to move into third place in League Two.

They have one of the best away records in the division, losing only five times in 19 outings, but four of the last eight have ended all square.

The Valiants also have a habit of conceding, keeping just one clean sheet in 16 attempts on the road, a run that has seen both teams net 14 times.
