SC Freiburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predictions

  • Freiburg have scored two or more goals in six of their last nine home league games
  • Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded two or more times in five of their last six Bundesliga away games
  • Freiburg have won five of their 10 home league games while Frankfurt have lost three of their last five aways

Freiburg in fine fettle at home

The fight to stay in the mix for next season’s European competitions continues for Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend as the sixth-placed side visit the team just below them in the Bundesliga.

Both sets of players earned first-leg draws on Thursday with Freiburg having the better of their 0-0 Europa League stalemate in lens while Eintracht frittered away a two-goal advantage against Union SG.

Freiburg’s performance, which halted a run of three straight defeats, was probably the better of the two and they are favored to annex the points in this clash because of their solid home form. Christian Streich’s side have won five of their 10 league games at home this term and lost only two.

Frankfurt are conceding too many goals

Eintracht have been less reliable on the road of late, dropping points in four of their last five away games and losing three of them. Their problem appears to be the number of goals they are conceding – 11 in their last six away trips.

Although they were denied a goal by the woodwork and a good display by Brice Samba in midweek, Freiburg’s forwards usually do the business at home. The home side have scored two or more goals in six of their last nine home league games and that looks like a good starting point for a bet.

A 2-1 home win also appeals here given Frankfurt usually score on their travels, but they have managed more than a solitary strike only once in the last five road trips.
