Ukraine Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Ukraine won 3-1 away to Scotland during their World Cup playoff clash in June and the visitors can take all three points in this Nations League trip. They’ve made an unbeaten start in this group with two wins from three, while Scotland looked poor in a 3-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland over the summer.

Ukraine 2-1

Reason for tip

Scotland have scored in their last six home internationals and BTTS has landed in four of their last six games. Back them to get a goal in a home defeat to a Ukraine side who are out to wrap up first place.

Scotland vs Ukraine Predictions

  • Ukraine won 3-1 here in June
  • The visitors won three of their five games in the last international break
  • Ukraine have made an unbeaten start in the Nations League (W2 D1)
  • Scotland lost 3-0 to the Republic of Ireland during the June break

Ukraine return to Hampden

Ukraine return to Hampden Park on Wednesday night, less than four months after claiming a victory here in World Cup qualifying. Their 3-1 victory put the Scots out of the playoffs for this winter’s World Cup, before Wales ended the Ukraine’s dream of reaching Qatar.

This week it’s Nations League action for the pair, with these two aiming to secure promotion to the top-tier of UEFA’s new league system. Scotland trail Ukraine by a point, but the pair meet twice this month as the group stage wraps up.

Ukraine to extend lead

Ukraine can take a big step towards promotion this week, after taking seven points from their first three games. They were able to bounce back from their defeat in Wales to make a great Nations League start, only slipping up in their fifth game in June’s busy international break.

Meanwhile, the Scots were beaten 3-0 by the Republic of Ireland in the summer and they look vulnerable to another loss. Ukraine’s 3-1 win here from June is a factor to consider, making the visitors look like good value draw no bet.

Four of the Scots’ last six internationals have seen both teams score, while they’ve netted in six straight outings at Hampden. While we’re backing Ukraine for the points, I’m backing Scotland to score in a 2-1 loss.
